Meet the Mad 4 Zumba team

Fiona Dacre

Fiona has been passionate about fitness for long enough to remember that aerobics was once called "Keep Fit" and involved wearing a bright blue cat-suit (ahh, the 80's).  So in 1992, following years of Jane Fonda work-outs and the odd half-marathon, she gained her qualification to teach exercise to music.  Graduating from Moray House in Edinburgh, Fiona went on to teach aerobics, step aerobics, spinning, fitball and Fitness Pilates which she did in both both members gyms such as Bannatynes and Keavil House Hotel, in local community and leisure centres.  Until discovering Zumba at a class she attended with fellow instructors Kelly and Zoe earlier this year, teaching step has always been Fiona's passion - she drove 40 step boards around in a clapped-out old Sierra at one point.  But Zumba, it would seem, is now giving the old step board a bit of a run for its money.  Having completed her Zumba training in June, Fiona is now hooked on this high-energy class - she loves the fact that it gets people smiling and most importantly, produces great results.

Not one for the quiet life, Fiona is also a full-time Community Nurse and is surrogate mother to 2 hens - don't judge her, her 2 grown up daughters have fled the nest! And when she's not putting holes in the livingroom floor with her incessant Zumba practice, Fiona is also an avid gardener.

Kelly McMahon

Having worked in the industry for over 12 years, Kelly is no newcomer to the wacky and wonderful world of fitness.  In 1998, ditching the desk job she had held since leaving school, Kelly decided that her vocation in life was fitness and went on to train as an instructor.  After qualifying, Kelly's first passion was teaching dance aerobics.  She later went on to teach spinning, step, body-conditioning...the list continues.  In 2001, Kelly fell in love with Pilates and trained at the Pilates Institute in London as an instructor.  In 2007, in order to further develop her knowledge and hone her teaching skills and practice, she re-trained with Stott Pilates.  A successful and respected instructor with a host of classes in West Fife under her belt, Kelly has taught in Bannatynes, Picture of Health Club at Keavil House Hotel and at various Fife Council leisure centres.  Falling hook, line and sinker for Zumba after trying it out earlier this year, Kelly knew she just had to teach it and signed herself up for the course.  Kelly credits the "feel good factor" for Zumba's success and loves the fact that she can stand at the front of a class and see a room full of smiling faces looking back at her.  She has a great passion for teaching and her classes are fun, energetic and most importantly, will always leave you want MORE!

In addition to her teaching, Kelly is kept on her toes by Mya (4) and Luca (2) and by her husband Barry, a self-confessed Zumba widow.  Inspired by the fun the kids have dancing around the house to her Zumba CDs (her husband, for some bizarre reason, doesn't share in this joy!) Kelly has signed up for the kids Zumba course, Zumbatomic.  Watch this space for kids classes.

Other Qualifications: Matwork and Equipment Pilates; Exercise to Music, Level 2; HNC Health, Fitness & Exercise; Certificate in Exercise Referral, Level 3.  Fully Insured and First Aid qualified.

Zoe Tod

Jennifer Jackson

After attending a Zumba class at her local gym by the Zumba master instructor Donna, at the start of the year, Jennifer quickly became hooked and starting attending regular classes.  She became qualified in June 2010 along with Kelly, Zoe and Fiona, and now teaches up to 5 classes a week across Kinross and Fife.  Jennifer proves that Zumba is for everyone; regardless of their background as she does not come from a fitness/dance background herself.  She works in a Bank Monday to Friday and releases the pressures of her office job through Zumba!  Jennifer thrives on the nature of the Zumba party with participants ranging from aged 16 - 70, but all enjoying the class as much as each other with no pressure to work beyond their capabilities.

Jennifer is fully insured and first aid trained.  Keep up to date with any class changes - join Zumba with Jen on Facebook.
